Zombie survival - PvP/E Massive MMO
H1Z1 is probably my favorite project I've worked on in the industry so far. It was realism centered, gritty, and scary.
The majority of my time on the project was spent on the weather. Sony Online Entertainment had no weather system previously, so I was starting from scratch.
The weather included server side controlled rain clouds, precipitation, temperature, fog, and a number of other dials and knobs to achieve a realistic feel and smooth transitions. I implemented the systems on the server and client, fog transitions, cloud rendering, snow and effects, surface wetness and rain drops that would fall from each actual 3D rain cloud.
